“Pony Up!” for The Western Folklife Center

The Western Folklife Center in Elko, Nevada has been producing the National Cowboy Poetry Gathering since its inception in 1980. Like so many donor supported organizations, they find themselves in dire need of cash to keep the lights on for another year. If you’d like to help out some very creative cowboy artists, watch this very funny video (more here), and click the link below to send in your online donation.

Calling All Cowboys. Give to ShelterBox!

Sometimes sleeping rough can be downright scary. Like after your house is destroyed by earthquake, or a giant wall of water takes out your entire town. It’s times like these that makes the comfort and security of a tent seem like a gift from heaven. At ShelterBox, Founder Tom Henderson saw that aid response to most disasters came in the form of food and medicine to help people survive the immediate aftermath; but little or no assistance was given in terms of proper shelter. To fill this void, Tom launched ShelterBox back in 2000 to send tents and self-sufficiency supplies to victims of natural and man-made disasters. Operating on donations from around the world, ShelterBox delivers aid as quickly as possible to people who need it the most. Each ShelterBox costs $725 (USD), and the group gratefully accepts online donations for the full or partial cost of a box. At Western Cowboy Brands, we believe that being neighborly is a character trait of most folks living the cowboy lifestyle. If you’d like to give something to this effort, please visit the ShelterBox website for further details.
